The key factor of human lifestyle is nutrition. This means that human health mainly depends on his diet. Serious scientists claim that up to 90 percent of modern diseases, according to the research is closely linked to diet. Why?
Through nutrition, we are taking ingredients necessary for growth, construction, energy, operation, maintenance and regeneration of the body. Statistics show that at the beginning of the last century in the United States, about 10 to 15 percent of deaths are caused by diseases of the heart and blood vessels. And today the figure is around 50 percent and it is the leading cause of death.
In second place is cancer. The facts show that these and other modern diseases have begun to appear when people began to consume more often or almost daily meat. And when the food industry started to produce very refined, artificial foods rich in calories and a number of harmful substances, in the absence of the necessary nutrients to our body. In general, we can divide food into two groups: animal and vegetable origin.
Origin of food, nutrition
The food of animal origin is meat, milk and milk products, eggs and all the products of these foods. And plant food is fruits, vegetables, and legumes, grains, nuts, and seeds. All these foods, to a lesser or a greater extent, contains all the nutrients and various biological substances or elements essential and necessary for the functioning of the human body such as proteins, amino acids, fats, vitamins, minerals, enzymes, fiber, carbohydrates, antioxidants, necessary acids, phytochemicals and various compounds (carotenoids, polyphenols, flavonoids, sulphides …) etc.
The food consumed by modern man, except the necessary, contain poisons, various harmful substances, and chemicals. Excess protein and fat and many more, are the characteristics of food of animal origin. All this causes negative consequences, above all, suffering, disease and death. It is very important to know the basic properties and structure of food. Because that way we can properly determine our needs for a particular type of food.
